“I need to be able to continue farming,” shares Kasura, a woman from Uganda.
At 78, Kasura is still working hard as a small-scale farmer. She and her husband, who has now passed away, raised seven children together.
For a year now, work has been especially difficult for Kasura. She has developed a cyst in her left inner thigh. It causes her pain, especially when walking or moving around.
Kasura has visited the hospital for this issue in the past, but was never able to afford surgery. When she heard about Watsi, Kasura decided to visit the medical center again. Her doctor recommended she undergo an excision procedure to remove the mass.
Kasura cannot afford to pay for this treatment; nor can her children, as they are subsistence farmers like their mother. But we can help her by raising $187. This will cover the cost of her operation on October 3, as well as her lab tests, medical records, and three-day hospital stay.
This surgery will improve Kasura’s quality of life, reducing her pain and allowing her to work again.
