Phanith is a cook from Cambodia. She has seven siblings and enjoys watching concerts on TV.
Phanith has strabismus in both eyes. Strabismus is a misalignment of the eye caused by injury or dysfunction in the associated nerves and muscles. It is difficult for her to see.
Phanith traveled to our medical partner’s care center to receive treatment. On March 6, surgeons at our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), will perform a corrective procedure to align her eyes. Now, Phanith needs help to raise $292 to fund this procedure.
She says, “I hope my eyes look straight to see and I can be beautiful.”

Phanith underwent eye surgery.
Phanith’s operation went smoothly and she has returned home. Her eye is a little bit swollen after surgery, but she’s been given drops to reduce inflammation and prevent infection. Following surgery, Phanith’s vision and confidence have been lifted.
She says, “I am so happy that I am seeing straight and am experiencing less pain. I feel very good.”
