Foster is 13 years old and only in the second grade. When he was a baby, he suffered severe burns to his head and hand. As a result, he didn’t start school until he was 10.
Foster was treated at health clinics in his home district, but he hasn’t be able to use his hand functionally since the accident. His fingers are fused together in a way that makes it difficult for him to keep up in school, and the injury will limit his options in the future if left untreated.
A $1000 surgery is all that stands in the way of Foster regaining the use of his hand and being able to continue with school. The CURE surgeons will use the funds raised to separate Foster’s fingers and improve the functionality of his hand.
