Norn is a rice farmer from Cambodia. She has two daughters, two sons, and five grandchildren. She likes to go to the local pagoda and listen to monks pray on the radio.
Four years ago, Norn developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her photophobia and blurred vision. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Norn learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for six and a half hours seeking treatment. On July 25, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
Her son says, “I worry that my mom’s vision is not good and that she cannot see and get around.”
