Kyaw is a 45-year-old man from Karen State in Burma. His wife passed away three years ago and his two grown children now live in Thailand, so Kyaw lives alone.
A few years ago, Kyaw began to develop a growth in his nose. He began experiencing pain and headaches, as well as increased sneezing and nasal fluid discharge. While he has been able to continue to work through the pain and discomfort, it bothers him on a daily basis.
Doctors have informed Kyaw that he will likely need surgery to resolve his growth. However, he needs to have a CT scan first so that the doctors can see the extent of the mass. On August 8, Kyaw will undergo the CT scan he needs to allow future surgery to address his condition. Our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund, requests $414 to cover the scan.
Kyaw looks forward to life after treatment, saying, “I hope to have my nasal growth removed soon so that I can get back to work on the farm.”
