Tumushabe is a small scale farmer from Uganda and a married mother of six children. Her husband is also a peasant farmer and, together, they own a four-room semi-permanent house. Tumushabe likes handcrafting, especially making grass mats, during her free time.
One year ago, Tumushabe developed a small swelling on her right wrist. The cyst has been increasing in size and has recently become painful, especially when she is farming. She is worried it could worsen and prevent her from performing her other daily duties.
Tumushabe visited a local hospital and was diagnosed with a dermoid cyst. If not treated, the pain may continue and the cyst could grow in size. Fortunately, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), can help. On May 14, surgeons will remove the mass. Now, Tumushabe needs help to raise $145 to fund this procedure.
Tumushabe shared, “I pray for a successful surgery. I will continue with farming and be able to take care of my family.”
