Peok is a farmer from Cambodia. He has four daughters, four sons, and five grandchildren. He likes to read about Buddha and listen to monks pray on the radio.
Three years ago, Peok developed a cataract in his right eye, causing him blurred vision, irritation, tearing, and photophobia. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Peok learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled for three hours seeking treatment. On July 4, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his right eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
He says, “I hope my vision is clear after surgery so I can return to work.”
