Dalin is a 19-year-old factory worker from Cambodia. She has two sisters and four brothers. Dalin likes to go shopping, listen to current music, and play badminton with her friends in her free time.
Dalin was born with polydactyly—a congenital condition of having more than the normal number of fingers or toes, She has an extra thumb on her left hand. This condition causes her discomfort when she is outside with others and makes her feel embarrassed when she is with her friends.
Dalin came to know about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), from her co-worker. Dalin traveled for three hours with her mother to reach CSC for treatment.
On May 16, surgeons at CSC will remove the extra thumb on Dalin’s left hand. Our medical partner, CSC, is requesting $296 to fund this procedure. The requested $296 pays for medications, surgical materials, five nights of hospital stay, and physiotherapy.
