Sara is 72 years old and works as a construction worker and farmer in Cambodia. She is married with three daughters and two sons. She likes to make cakes to sell at the market, listen to the news on the radio, and cook for her family.
About 36 years ago, Sara was bitten by a snake, causing a chronic wound on the bottom of her right foot. She still experiences swelling, pus discharge, and numbness, and cannot move her toes.
Sara finally contacted our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), for treatment. On June 7, surgeons will perform an amputation of Sara’s right foot to eliminate the infection and pain. CSC is requesting $446 to cover the total cost of the procedure.
