Ogalo is a three-month-old baby boy from Kenya. He lives with his parents and sibling. Ogalo’s mother takes care of the household, while his father does casual labor in farming and construction.
When Ogalo was one month old, his grandmother noticed that his head was abnormally large. She took him to visit the local hospital. There, he was diagnosed with hydrocephalus, a condition in which excess fluid builds up in the brain.
On March 28, Ogalo will undergo brain surgery at BethanyKids Kijabe Hospital (BKKH), our medical partner’s care center. Surgeons will insert a shunt into his brain. This procedure will help to alleviate the pressure in Ogalo’s head. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is asking for $685 to cover the cost of his surgery.
Ogalo’s mother is grateful for all of the support from the donors.
