Blessed is a bright five-year-old student from Uganda who loves to sing and assist in house chores. She has one older brother, who is in class 3, and one younger sister, who has not yet began school. To support their family, her mother works as a tailor, and her father works as a businessman. Her mother envisions that Blessed will one day become a teacher.
For eight months, Blessed has dealt with an umbilical hernia. The hernia causes her to experience discomfort, abdominal pain, a lack of appetite, and difficulty exercising. Fortunately, on August 3rd, she will undergo hernia repair surgery at our medical partner’s care center.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $230 to fund Blessed’s surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow her to live more comfortably and confidently.
Blessed’s mother says, “I wish that she will have a normal life after treatment because we really want our child in good health, but finances have always limited us.”
