Meet Nora, a married housewife from the Philippines. She is the mother of four young children who are all attending school. Her husband is a janitor, and Nora earns money as a laundress. They work hard to take care of and provide for their children.
Nora has been diagnosed with uterine myoma (also known as uterine fibroids). This refers to growths that have appeared in the wall of her uterus. As a result, Nora experiences fatigue, cramps, and heavy menstrual bleeding.
Fortunately, Nora was seen by doctors at our medical partner’s care center, Zamboanga Del Norte Medical Center, and is now scheduled for a hysterectomy on February 14. $187 will fully fund the costs of this surgery.
As a mother, Nora has always put the needs of her children before her own. She is extremely relieved and happy to be receiving this surgery. She says, “I have been praying for a miracle that I will be treated, and indeed a miracle came.”
