Tusingwire is a 58-year-old woman from Uganda. She is a small-scale farmer and practices traditional farming methods. A widow and mother to seven children, Tusingwire loves spending time with her family.
Three years ago, Tusingwire began to experience swelling on her right shoulder blade. Over time, the mass has grown larger and become painful. She now finds it very difficult to sleep as it puts pressure on the mass. She has sought treatment several times and been diagnosed with fibrolipoma, but she has not been able to afford the necessary surgery.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $187 to funs Tusingwire’s surgery. She is scheduled for treatment on October 26 at our medical partner’s care center, Karoli Lwanga Hospital, Nyakibale. After her operation, Tusingwire will be able to sleep well and care for her children with greater ease.
“I hope to have peace of mind, reduced pain and continue with farming after surgery,” Tusingwire says.
