Meet Caroline, a 19-year-old from Uganda who is expecting her first baby. Caroline and her aunt, Allen, are subsistence farmers who grow millet, cassava, and potatoes. During her free time, Caroline enjoys weaving mats for bedding. She also likes watching youth soccer at the community field. She hopes to be a singer in the future.
Caroline has malaria, which could put her baby at risk without the proper pre- and post-natal care. On November 7, Caroline checked in to Bwindi Community Hospital, where Watsi’s medical partner, the Kellermann Foundation, operates. There, doctors will help her have a safe delivery. Now, she needs $241 in funding. Caroline’s hope is to send her baby to school.
“I thank the people who are donating for me to have a safe delivery,” she says. “Mwebare Munonga (thank you very much).”
