Nuro is an 11-year-old boy with a deformity in his left foot. Because of his condition, Nuro experiences stiffness in his foot and inability to flex properly. It’s difficult for him to walk, run, or live any kind of normal 11-year-old boy life.
Fortunately, doctors at CURE can perform surgery to lengthen the tendon in Nuro’s foot. They believe this will enable him to use it normally.
Nuro is a friendly boy from a region of Ethiopia called Afar. He traveled more than 440 miles to seek treatment at CURE, and is hopeful that this surgery will give him the same use of his foot as his friends.

Nuro received surgery to fix a deformity in his left foot.
After a successful procedure, Nuro will now no longer experience stiffness in his foot or immobility. Nuro left the hospital before CURE was able to snap a post-treatment photo of him, but he’s doing well and his doctors expect him to make a full recovery.
Having traveled over 440 miles to the CURE hospital, this young boy deserved treatment and will soon be walking and running again with his friends.
