Dominga is a beloved and longstanding patient of her clinic in Guatemala. Dominga, in fact, is a grateful recipient of past Watsi support: last year she received lifesaving sponsorship from Watsi donors, who paid for antibiotics and surgery to cure a severe foot ulcer.
Dominga now needs treatment to remove cataracts from her eyes. A $300 surgery will resolve Dominga’s vision problems. This will not only restore eyesight to its normal capacity, but will also better allow her to care for herself long-term.

Dominga received surgery to treat cataracts and improve her vision.
Following her cataract surgery, Dominga is seeing better than she has in 20 years. Her overall quality of life has also improved and she can now see well enough to actively participate in her own diabetes management by drawing up her insulin.
This is the second time Dominga has received care funded by Watsi donors. She is extremely grateful for the help and reports that she feels “no longer forgotten.”
