Chhnarng is a police officer from Cambodia. He has two daughters, two sons, and ten grandchildren. He likes to watch boxing matches on TV.
A year ago, Chhnarng developed a cataract in his right eye, causing him blurred vision and photophobia. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Chhnarng learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled for two hours seeking treatment. On October 18, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his right eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
He says, “I hope I can read again after my eye surgery and recognize faces.”
