Mary is a 54-year-old farmer from Uganda. She and her husband have seven children, five of whom still live at home. To provide for their schooling, Mary and her husband farm their small piece of land. They shared that their income is unstable in meeting their family’s daily needs and the cost of medical bills.
For three months, Mary has been experiencing pain and worrisome symptoms that have made it impossible for her to work. She visited our medical partner’s care center, where the doctors diagnosed her condition as a uterine polyp. Mary needs to undergo surgery to address possible anemia and help her heal. On January 19th, Mary will undergo a hysterectomy, a procedure in which surgeons will remove her uterus. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), is requesting $219 to fund this procedure. Once recovered, Mary will be able to resume her daily activities free of pain.
Mary says: “I look forward to having a changed lifestyle after your support, thus being able to do my activities for my family’s wellbeing.”
