Mugisa is a two-year-old boy and the youngest in his family. He has one older sister who is in nursery school. His parents are farmers. They cultivate food for home consumption and for sale.
Recently, Mugisa was diagnosed with an umbilical hernia. Their neighbors advised Mugisa’s parents to take Mugisa to our medical partner’s care center, Virika Hospital, for treatment. If not treated, Mugisa may experience tissue damage due to hernia twisting and blocking.
On July 26, surgeons at Virika Hospital will perform hernia repair surgery on Mugisa. The $249 requested by our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, will cover the full cost of the procedure, including a hospital stay, labs, supplies, medication, and doctor fees.
