Edward is a 60-year-old father and farmer from Uganda. He grows food for the family and enjoys tending to his coffee plants. To relax, Edward enjoys spending time with his children and telling them about what he did as a youth. He also enjoys listening to the radio, especially announcements and news.
Edward has lived with a hernia for the past eight years, but in the last several months the pain has gotten too intense for him to continue working in his fields.
Edward sought out our medical partner, The Kellermann Foundation, for help. He is now scheduled to undergo hernia repair surgery on May 1, and is requesting $229 to cover the total cost of the procedure.
After his recovery, he says he looks forward to resuming his work without pain. “I am very grateful for any assistance I receive,” says Edward. “It is a blessing that I didn’t expect.”
