As a result, Vincent has been experiencing an increasing head circumference. Without treatment, Vincent will experience severe physical and developmental delays. Our medical partner, Project Medishare, is requesting $957 to cover the cost of surgery for Vincent at Hospital Bernard Mevs, on September 14th. This critical treatment will place a shunt to drain the excess fluid from Vincent's brain to reduce intracranial pressure and greatly improve his quality of life. The procedure, scheduled for August 16th at Hospital Bernard Mevs, will drain the excess fluid from Jayden's brain, and reduce intracranial pressure. After his surgery, Jayden's quality of life should improve greatly. With proper support and care, he may grow up strong and healthy. Our medical partner, Project Medishare, is seeking $897 to fund the surgery Dieuralna urgently needs at Hospital Bernard Mevs, the only facility in Haiti offering this care. The surgery is scheduled for September 14th and will drain the excess fluid from her brain, reducing the pressure and significantly improving her quality of life. With this treatment, Dieuralna has a hopeful future where she can grow into a strong, healthy young girl. Neisha is a toddler from Haiti. She lives with her parents and older brother. Her father works in construction and her mother is a homemaker. She likes playing with the other children in her neighborhood and helping her mother make food. Neisha has a cardiac condition called Tetralogy of Fallot, where a hole between the two lower chambers of the heart and a muscular blockage of one of the valves are present. These prevent blood from circulating through her lungs, leaving her weak and short of breath. Neisha will fly to the Dominican Republic to receive treatment. On July 17th, she will undergo cardiac surgery, during which surgeons will patch the hole in her heart and remove the blockage from her valve. Another organization, Haiti Cardiac Alliance, is contributing $8500 to pay for surgery. Neisha's family also needs help to fund the costs of surgery prep. They need $1,500 for labs, medicines, checkups, and follow-up appointments. It also supports securing travel documents for the social workers from our medical partner, International Cardiac Alliance, who will accompany Neisha's family overseas. Neisha's mother says, "Our family is so glad to know that we will soon be able to stop worrying so much about our daughter's heart!"

Bernadin is a playful two-year-old girl from Haiti. Bernadin has been diagnosed with hydrocephalus, a condition in which excess cerebrospinal fluid accumulates in the brain and increases intracranial pressure. As a result of her condition, Bernadin has been experiencing increasing head circumference. Without treatment, Bernadin will experience severe physical and developmental delays. Our medical partner, Project Medishare, is requesting $897 to cover the cost of surgery for Bernadin at Hospital Bernard Mevs. This is the only site in the country where this care is currently available and the procedure is scheduled to take place on May 9th. This critical treatment will drain the excess fluid from Bernadin's brain to reduce intracranial pressure and greatly improve her quality of life. With proper treatment and follow-up care, Bernadin should develop into a strong, healthy young girl. The family is looking forward to Bernadin growing up happy and healthy.

Boika is a toddler from Haiti. He lives with his parents and four siblings in a small rural village where his parents are both farmers. Boika has a cardiac condition called ventricular septal defect. A hole exists between the two lower chambers of his heart; blood leaks through this hole without passing through the lungs to obtain oxygen, leaving him weak and short of breath. Boika also has Down syndrome. Boika will fly to the Dominican Republic to receive treatment. On July 15, he will undergo cardiac surgery, during which Surgeons will sew the hole closed so that blood can no longer leak through it. Another organization is contributing funds to help pay for surgery, but Boika's family also needs help to fund the costs of surgery prep and transportation. These funds will covers labs, medicines, and checkup and followup appointments. It also supports passport obtainment as well as the social workers from our medical partner, International Cardiac Alliance, who will accompany Boika's family overseas. Boika's mom said, "I hope that after this surgery, my son will get the strength to start walking and playing on his own."

Junior is a 43-year-old man from Haiti. He lives with his wife and three daughters and travels throughout the country for his work as an air-conditioning installation technician. Junior has a cardiac condition called rheumatic aortic regurgitation. One of the four valves of his heart no longer opens and closes properly as a result of an infection that he suffered earlier in his life. As a result, his heart can no longer adequately pump blood through his body, leaving him weak and short of breath. Junior will fly to the United States to receive treatment. On August 26th, he will undergo cardiac surgery, during which Surgeons will remove his damaged valve and implant an artificial replacement. Another organization, Baylor Scott and White Heart Hospital, is contributing $28,000 to pay for surgery. Junior's family also needs help to fund the costs of surgery prep. Our medical partner, International Cardiac Alliance, is requesting $1,500 to cover labs, medicines, and checkup and follow-up appointments. It also supports securing travel documents and supporting social workers from our medical partner, who will accompany Junior's family overseas. Junior says, "My entire family is so happy to know that there is a chance for my heart to be fixed."

Meet Macda, a 35-year-old mother of two from Haiti. She lives in Port-au-Prince with her partner and their two children. She and her partner are both vendors. Macda has a cardiac condition called rheumatic mitral regurgitation. As a result of an infection that she suffered earlier in her life, one of the four valves of her heart does not function properly. This valve cannot adequately pump blood through her body, leaving her weak and short of breath. Macda will fly to the United States to receive treatment. On August 27th, she will undergo cardiac surgery at Baylor Scott & White Heart Hospital, during which surgeons will either repair or replace her damaged valve, allowing it to function more normally. The hospital is contributing $25,000.00 to pay for the surgery. However, Macda's family also needs help to fund the cost of pre-surgical labs, medicines, and checkups, as well as follow-up appointments. Our medical partner, International Cardiac Alliance, will also need resources to secure travel documents and support for social workers who will accompany Macda's family on their trip to the U.S. They are requesting $1,500 to fund these costs. Macda said: "I have been praying for years to be able to have this surgery, and I am very thankful to everyone who is helping me to get it!"
