Meet Marvenson, a two-year-old boy from Haiti. One of his favorite activities is dressing up to go to church. Like many toddlers, Marvenson also loves to play with his three older siblings. But unlike most boys his age, Marvenson faces a life-threatening heart disease.
Marvenson was born with a cardiac condition known as double outlet right ventricle, in which both of the heart's major arteries connect to one chamber of the heart, instead of two. This can lead to heart failure.
Marvenson will fly to the Cayman Islands to receive treatment. On June 29, he will undergo cardiac surgery. This $27,000 surgery is subsidized by Have a Heart Cayman. Marvenson's family also needs help to fund the costs of surgery prep. The $1,500 bill covers labs, medicines, and checkup and followup appointments. It also supports passport obtainment and the social workers from our medical partner, Haiti Cardiac Alliance, who will accompany Marvenson's family overseas. Watsi is also fundraising for his [transportation](https://watsi.org/profile/f70e38239568-marvenson).
Thanks to your donation, Marvenson will have the chance at a healthy life that all children deserve. "I am a bit nervous about the surgery,” shares Marvenson’s mother, “but I know that God will protect my son and make him well.”
