Seav Gech is a 37-year-old rice farmer from Cambodia. She has two children and enjoys cooking and doing housework in her free time.
When she was fifteen years old, Seav Gech had an ear infection. This infection caused the tympanic membrane, or the ear drum, in her right ear to perforate. For this reason, Seav Gech experiences discharge, itchiness, tinnitus, and hearing loss. She has a difficult time understanding people and is unable to communicate well with others.
Seav Gech traveled to our medical partner's care center to receive treatment. On May 2, she will undergo a myringoplasty procedure in her right ear. During this procedure, surgeons will close the perforation. Our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, is requesting $423 to fund this procedure. This covers medications, supplies, and inpatient care.
She says, "I hope that after my surgery, my ear will heal and I will be able to hear again."
