Yazmin is a four-year-old girl from Guatemala. Yazmin has a younger brother who is three years old, and she loves to spend time with him and play as much as she is capable.
Yazmin suffers from a range of health problems—she has been incapable of walking since she was born, she is mostly deaf, she has facial paralysis, and she has a heart murmur. When Yazmin was smaller her mother carried her everywhere on her back, but this has become more difficult difficult as Yazmin grows bigger. As a result, Yazmin needs a wheelchair to be able to move around easily.
Watsi funding will provide a wheelchair that supports Yazmin’s head. Yazmin will be able to travel to doctor appointments more easily and participate in community life. Having a wheelchair will enable Yazmin’s family to travel outside of their home with less physical strain, which will enrich both Yazmin’s life and those of her family members.
Yazmin says, “Thank you for this help to get me a wheelchair. It will help so that my Mom can rest a bit and so I can sit well.”
