South is a 75-year-old retired farmer, who has two sons, three daughters, and numerous grandchildren. South, who is a widow, lives with her youngest daughter, where her children still farm their family's ancestral land.
In May 2020, South was in a motor vehicle collision, and fractured her right kneecap. At the local government hospital, surgery was performed, and hardware was placed to stabilize South's kneecap, so that it would heal properly. She is able to walk again without pain or difficulty, but she needs to have the hardware removed from her leg.
South turned to our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, for help.
She is now scheduled to have the hardware surgically removed on October 7th, at Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre. South needs your help to raise the $304 required to cover the cost of this procedure, which will restore full range of motion to her knee and eliminate the risk of future infection.
South shared: "I hope my right leg won't be stiff anymore and I can go back home soon."
