"She feels the fetus move, and kick her belly after walking for a while," says our medical partner, Lwala Community Alliance (LCA).
27-year-old Jecinter is a pregnant mother of four boys from Kenya. She and her husband work hard as farmers, growing maize, beans, and groundnuts. Currently, Jecinter is struggling with particularly difficult symptoms of pregnancy, including heartburn, indigestion and constipation. She hopes to have her fifth baby in a safe, clean facility with proper care, but cannot afford the cost.
For $290, LCA can provide Jecinter with prenatal, delivery, and postnatal care for both Jecinter and her newborn. "This will allow Jecinter to continue with her business without feeling any delivery discomfort," says LCA.
Jecinter has big aspirations for the future, and wants the best for her children and newborn. "After a successful delivery, I will continue with my farming and ensure that my children are provided with their basic needs and school fees." she says.
Let's help Jecinter receive this important care, and deliver her new baby safely.
