Kabasita is a farmer from Uganda. She is married and a mother of six. All of her children are in different levels of schooling. Kabasita and her husband practice farming for home consumption and to sell in order to support their children's education and their basic needs.
For five years, Kabasita has had a femoral hernia. The hernia is causing her pain and discomfort. If not treated, the hernia may result in intestinal tissue blocking and twisting. Fortunately, on April 11, she will undergo hernia repair surgery at our medical partner's care center.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $249 to fund Kabasita's surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow her to live more comfortably and confidently.
She says, "After surgery I will continue with farming."
