Neng is a 62-year-old waste collector. She is now divorced and has one son, one daughter, and many grandchildren. She lives with her daughter, who also works as a waste collector. Currently, Neng stays home and looks after her grandchildren due to her vision. She enjoys visiting the local pagoda and listening to the monks pray on the radio in her free time. Five years ago, Neng developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her blurry vision, tearing, and photophobia. As a result, she has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside. When Neng learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), she traveled for three and a half hours seeking treatment. On November 22nd, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. CSC is requesting $229 to fund Neng's procedure. Neng shared, "I hope after surgery my eye can see clearly again. I want to help my daughter do housework and look after my grandchildren better than before."
