Savorn is a fourth grade student from Cambodia. He has two younger brothers and a sister. He likes to paint and watch TV. He wants to be a pilot when he grows up.
Six years ago, Savorn had an ear infection. This infection caused the tympanic membrane, or the ear drum, in his left ear to perforate. For this reason, Savorn experiences ear discharge, pain, and itchiness. He has difficulty communicating clearly with others.
Savorn traveled to our medical partner’s care center to receive treatment. On December 6, he will undergo a myringoplasty procedure in his left ear. During this procedure, surgeons will close the perforation. Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, is requesting $423 to fund this procedure. This covers medications, supplies, and inpatient care.
His mother says, “I hope my son’s hearing improves and the infection is gone. He will feel better soon.”
