Akatukunda is a student from Uganda. She is born in a family of six siblings, totaling four boys and three girls. Her father passed away and her mother is now the sole breadwinner. Three of the boys have already completed studies, but unfortunately haven’t gotten jobs yet. She is the first girl doing her first year at campus and the rest are still in primary school. Her mother is a primary teacher and says she is over whelmed with school fees.
Akankunda presented with a breast mass for almost two years now. It is painless, palpable, and has associated discharge. It causes her discomfort and if not treated, may result in pain.
Akatukunda traveled to our medical partner’s care center to receive treatment. On January 14th, surgeons will remove the mass. Now, Akatukunda needs help to raise $187 to fund this procedure.
Akatukunda says, “I pray that my condition improves so I can continue with my studies.”
