Petro is a young student and the last born to his mother, who has six children. Petro is a bright student and is currently in the second year of his primary school education.
Petro was diagnosed with a condition called bilateral genu varus, in which his legs bow outward at the knee. This condition is typically caused by an excessive accumulation of fluoride in the bones, which often stems from contaminated drinking water. As a result, he experiences pain and discomfort after walking for a while.
Fortunately, on November 18th, Petro will undergo corrective surgery with our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH). This treatment will help restore Petro’s mobility and allow him to participate in various activities, as well as significantly decrease his risk of future complications. AMH is requesting $880 to fund Petro’s procedure.
Petro shared, “I would like to be able to walk without difficulty and be able to play with my friends.”
