George is an 11-year-old boy and the third child in his family. George is in grade six and loves playing football a lot. Both of his parents are farmers. To earn a living, his mother sells the farm produce, which makes them some income. To supplement these earnings, his father completes any informal jobs he can find.
George was diagnosed with cryptorchidism, a condition in which one or both of the testicles remains undescended. If left untreated, George has an increased risk of developing hernias, testicular cancer, and fertility problems in the future.
George will be receiving assistance from our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH). Fortunately, he is scheduled to undergo corrective surgery on March 3rd. AMHF is requesting $561 to cover the total cost of his procedure and care.
George’s father shared, “It is very difficult for us as a family to raise the required amount for his surgery. We are grateful and appreciative of any help offered to us.”

George did not yet undergo an orchidopexy procedure.
Our medical partner just shared an update on George that we wanted to share with you right away. George’s family did not show up for surgery as planned. The hospital has tried contacting them and his father shared that the reason they did not bring George is that he did not have money to cater for the cost. We have assured his family that Watsi supporters are covering his costs, but they still have not come. Our medical partner has continued to contact him and we hope they will return soon. In the meantime, they have asked that we support another patient in need right now. Thank you for your kindness and understanding!
