Phen is a flower vendor from Cambodia. She has one son, three daughters, and five grandchildren. She likes to watch movies, listen to monks pray on the radio, and take care of her grandchildren.
Three years ago, Phen developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her blurry vision, headache, irritation, tearing, and photophobia. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Phen learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for two hours seeking treatment. On July 11, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
She says, “I hope I can see clearly so I can continue my work as a food vendor.”
