Srey Long is a 16-year-old girl from Cambodia. She is the youngest of five siblings and enjoys listening to music.
Three years ago, Srey Long had an ear infection. This infection caused the tympanic membrane, or the ear drum, in her left ear to perforate. For this reason, Srey Long experiences hearing loss, discharge, and tinnitus. She can no longer attend classes and has a difficult time communicating with others.
Srey Long traveled to our medical partner’s care center to receive treatment. On December 18th, she will undergo a myringoplasty procedure in her left ear. During this procedure, surgeons will close the perforation. Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, is requesting $423 to fund this procedure. This covers medications, supplies, and inpatient care.
“I hope that my daughter’s surgery will go well and she will no longer suffer from any ear infection.”-Srey Long’s Mother
