Rosa is a 30-year-old single woman who lives in Guatemala’s rural highlands. She works as an assistant nurse, and she likes to create traditional embroideries in her free time.
Rosa has always struggled with her eyesight, but she had formerly been unable to see a doctor for an eye examination. One month ago, Rosa had the opportunity to attend a free clinic to get her eyesight tested. At the clinic, Rosa was diagnosed with myopia, or nearsightedness. In order to fix her blurry vision and inability to see faraway objects, Rosa needs glasses.
Our medical partner, Wuqu’ Kawoq, is requesting $552 to fund Rosa’s new glasses fit with prescription lenses, which she is scheduled to receive on June 9.
“I thank the institution and the donors for giving me the opportunity to be the beneficiary of this support. For lack of economic resources I have been unable to go to a doctor about my vision problems. Thank you for this great help. I know I will be able to see better and I will continue to help other needy people with their health problems, “ says Rosa.
