Peter is a 12-year-old student from Kenya. He is in class seven and the youngest in a family of three children. His mother is single and has no steady employment, only looking for casual jobs like weeding and washing clothes for neighbors, even to bring Peter to Nazareth Hospital for treatment she was given bus fare by her sister.
Peter was diagnosed with cryptorchidism, a condition in which one or both of the testicles remains undescended. If left untreated, Peter has an increased risk of developing hernias, testicular cancer, and fertility problems in the future.
Peter will be receiving assistance from our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation (AMHF). Fortunately, he is scheduled to undergo corrective surgery on February 20th. AMHF is requesting $459 to cover the total cost of his procedure and care.
“I was told the risks of this problem not being treated and hope my son can be treated soon. I therefore request for help since I have no one to look upon for financial support,” Peters’ mother said.
