Chhang is a 72-year-old rice farmer from Cambodia. She has seven children, twenty grandchildren, and enjoys listening to the monks pray on the radio in her free time.
Five months ago, Chhang developed a cataract in her right eye, causing her blurry vision. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Chhang learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for two and a half hours seeking treatment. On December 09, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her right eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
Chhang said, “I hope that I will be able to return to the ceremonies at the pagoda and I will be able to recognize my relatives’s faces.”
