Pasry is a 67-year-old rice farmer with three daughters, three sons, and five grandchildren. He lives with his wife, who is a farmer, and his second daughter, who is a teacher. He likes to listen to the news on the radio and visit the local temple in his free time.
About four months ago, Pasry developed a cataract in his right eye causing him tearing and blurry vision. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Pasry learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled for three and a half hours seeking treatment. On September 20th, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his right eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $229 procedure.
Pasry shared, “I hope I can see clearly after surgery. I can go back to the rice field and can plant vegetables to help feed my grandchildren.”
