Ren is a 69-year-old woman with two daughters and four sons. She spends her time at home looking after her grandchildren.
Two months ago, Ren had a severe ear infection. This infection caused the tympanic membrane, or the ear drum, in her left ear to perforate. For this reason, Ren experiences ear fullness, pain, tinnitus, and hearing loss. Now, she cannot communicate clearly with others and she is in pain.
Ren traveled to our medical partner’s care center to receive treatment. On July 14th, she will undergo a myringoplasty procedure in her left ear. During this procedure, surgeons will close the perforation. Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, is requesting $464 to fund this procedure. This covers medications, supplies, and inpatient care.
Ren said, “I hope that my ear pain and tinnitus will stop so I can feel well again and look after my grandchildren.”
