Meet Phan, a 67-year-old grandmother from Cambodia. Before losing her vision, one of Phan’s favorite past times was going to the pagoda and listening to the monks play.
According to our medical partners at Children’s Surgical Center, Phan has a mature cataract in her left eye. Phan’s doctors share that “it has been a year since Phan was able to see clearly. She cannot cook for her family, watch the news on TV, or go anywhere alone.”
In addition, Phan’s condition prevents her from doing much with her 14 grandchildren. Our medical partners also report that Phan feels like she “is a burden on her daughter, who sacrifices her time to take care of her.”
For $150 we can provide Phan with the cataract surgery she needs to restore vision in her left eye. Let’s help Phan regain her eyesight and her independence!
