Kar is an eight-month-old boy from Burma. He lives with his family in Hpa-an, Karen State.
When Kar was three month old, his parents noticed for the first time that his head size was increasing. Besides the increased head size, Kar suffers from occasional fever (about every three to four months) and has trouble sleeping.
Doctors want Kar to undergo a CT scan, a procedure in which x-ray images taken from several angles are combined to produce cross-sectional images of the body. This scan will hopefully help doctors diagnose his condition and formulate an appropriate treatment plan.
Our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund, is requesting $469 to cover the cost of Kar’s CT scan and care, scheduled for May 22.
His mother says, “I hope that my son can have a healthy and normal life, just like his brother.”
