Yut is a 60-year-old construction worker from Cambodia. He has eight children, ten grandchildren, and enjoys listening to the radio and watching Khmer boxing in his free time.
Two years ago, Yut developed a cataract in his right eye, causing him tearing, blurry vision, and photophobia. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Yut learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled for two hours seeking treatment. On July 9, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his right eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
He says, “I hope that after my surgery, I will be able to see clearly and can help take care of my grandchildren.”
