Mong is originally from the Kampong Cham province but moved to the city of Phnon Penh when he got married. Both he and his wife work in a factory nearby.
In May 2021, Mong was unfortunately hurt in a motor vehicle accident that caused trauma on his left leg. After the accident, his family took him to a clinic for wound repair and casting. However, Mong is still experiencing numbness on his left foot and is unable to flex his foot, which is keeping him from walking well. Surgeons at our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), will perform a nerve and tendon procedure for his leg. CSC is requesting $541 for this procedure.
Mong is optimistic about the treatment, “I am happy that I can have an operation here. My hope is that after surgery I can heal and regain use of my left foot so I can return to work.”

Mong underwent nerve and tendon procedures so he can walk again.
Mong will stay at the hospital until surgeons are sure he’s completely healing with no complications. He will soon be able to walk again and sensation will return to his foot as the nerve regenerates over the next several months. Mong hopes to walk again soon and return to work.
Mong shares, “I am so grateful to the team who fixed my leg. I was embarrassed I could not work to support my new bride. Thank you to all the donors who helped me, so I can have a better life and go back to work in the factory.”
