Nelson is a 76-year-old maize and tobacco farmer from Malawi. He is married with one child and six grandchildren. When Nelson isn’t working on his farm, he works as a bicycle mechanic in his village.
Since the beginning of 2017, Nelson has experienced urinary difficulty and chronic pain due to an enlarged prostate. Doctors diagnosed him with benign prostatic hyperplasia, a condition that can easily be treated through prostate resection surgery. However, Nelson can’t afford to pay for the operation.
On July 13, Nelson will have prostate resection surgery. Our medical partner, World Altering Medicine, is requesting $733 to fund the treatment.
Nelson is looking forward to being pain-free so that he can return to work and continue to provide for this family. He says, “I am giving much thanks to Watsi!”
