Tamandani is a father of five from Malawi. He spends his time gardening.
Since 2018, Tamandani has had an inguinal hernia. This hernia causes him stomach pain at any given moment and swelling. Fortunately, on February 5, he will undergo hernia repair surgery at Nkhoma Hospital, our medical partner’s care center.
Our medical partner, World Altering Medicine, is requesting $334 to fund Tamandani’s surgery. The requested money pays for supplies, medications, and six nights of hospital stay. Tamandani and his family are very excited and thankful to know that he will be receiving good care for free.

Tamandani underwent hernia surgery.
He is feeling much better now and looks forward to returning to his village to continue farming, as well as working on his small business of selling spare parts for fixing bicycles.
He says, “This program has helped me so much because when I came to the hospital, I had nothing. I was told I needed an operation, but I had no way of paying for the surgery. Thank you so much!”
