Son is a rice farmer from Cambodia. She has two sons, one daughter, and ten grandchildren. She enjoys reading the Bible and listening to monks pray on the radio.
Four years ago, Son developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her blurred vision, irritation, tearing, clouded lens, and photophobia. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Son learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for three hours seeking treatment. On March 8, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
She says, “I hope I can see better so I can clearly read the Bible and can recognize the faces of my loved ones.”
