“Reaksa likes to watch cartoons in the morning and his favorite food is fried fish,” shares our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC).
Reaksa is a three-year-old boy from Cambodia. CSC tells us,“Reaksa was playing with scissors when he accidentally cut his eye.” This resulted in a traumatic cataract in his left eye. He can’t see well out of the affected eye, and he is in a great deal of pain. His grandmother is concerned that his functional blindness will affect his aptitude in school.
$150 will fund the cataract surgery Reaksa needs to restore his vision. The procedure involves removing the affected lens and replacing it with a clear lens implant.
Reaksa is expected to recover quickly after surgery, and he will be able to see again out of his left eye. Let’s help this young boy regain his independence and improve his quality of life.
