Consolanta lives with her husband and their children in rural Uganda. She is a small farmer who grows cassava, potatoes, and yams. Sometimes, she exchanges what she harvests or works on other farms. Consolanta’s husband has a physical disability, so he cannot work.
Consolanta was diagnosed with a lipoma on the back of her neck. A lipoma is a fatty lump situated between the skin and the underlying muscle. This condition caused her a lot of pain and affected her daily life.
Fortunately, Consolanta visited our medical partner’s hospital, Bwindi Community Hospital. On December 3, she underwent a mass removal procedure. Consolanta paid $4 toward her medical expenses. Our medical partner, The Kellermann Foundation, is requesting an additional $196 in funding.
After recovery, Consolanta hopes to return to her community and work on her farm. Without the lipoma, she will be able to carry things on her head and bend over to sweep.
“I wish to thank the donors for the support,” shares Consolanta. “I wish I had a way of showing how grateful I am for your help. May God bless you.”
