Telesa is a mother of three from Malawi. She lives with her husband and works on the family farm. She enjoys chatting with her four grandchildren in her free time.
Since February 2019, Telesa has been experiencing abdominal pain and extensive bleeding, causing severe anemia. She has been diagnosed with unspecified vaginal bleeding. She needs to undergo a hysterectomy, a procedure in which surgeons will remove her uterus.
Our medical partner, World Altering Medicine, is requesting $650 to fund Telesa’s surgery. On March 28, she will undergo gynecological surgery at Nkhoma Hospital, our medical partner’s care center. The requested money pays for supplies, medications, and seven nights of hospital stay. She and her family have accepted the need for surgery to remove the disease. They are so happy to know that she will soon be feeling better after this procedure.
She says, “I look forward to being strong and able to do my work at home, on the farm, and around the house for my family. This program is helping very much to remove the disease.”
