Patricia is a 53-year-old female farmer who lives in rural Malawi. Patricia’s husband passed away in a car accident, so she has been the primary breadwinner for herself and her family since the accident.
However, since January 2017, Patricia has been in pain due to an ovarian cyst. In order to treat the cyst, Patricia must undergo a hysterectomy procedure.
On July 20, surgeons at our medical partner’s care center, Nkhoma Hospital, will perform a hysterectomy procedure on Patricia. The $650 requested to fund Patricia’s treatment will cover the full cost of the procedure, including a seven-night hospital stay, medication, labs, transport, and surgeon time. Patricia is looking forward to having the procedure and finally being pain-free.
